Big hit with my three year old!

This app has kept my three year old busy for over an hour already and hes hardly gotten into it! He LOVES the tracing and the letters and pictures, its very hands on. I call this a win!

Engaging and age appropriate for 3 and under

This Kids Academy app is focused on learning to write letters, numbers, and shapes. Its easy to use and the navigation is very kid friendly. The tracing is smooth and unlike some tracing apps, if my three year old messes up halfway through tracing the letter, he doesnt have to start all the way over. He can pick up from where he traced outside of the lines. My 16 month was also able to engage in this app!

Fun for kids

Yes, the app costs almost 10$ but kids love playing on it and best of all they are learning! Its a fun and engaging app that will keep kids entertained with the variety of games that target specific skills.

More for Preschool than Kindergarten learning games

Parts of it are ok. We liked collecting fireflies, but then that was the only reward! There needs to be more variety, We also experienced a lot of repetition and frustration. They try to encourage you, but it gets frustrating if you’re not pressing the screen with the correct pressure or your line didn’t go all the way on the dotted line, the voice tells you “IT’S EASY”.. when clearly you’re having a struggle. In “Kid” mode there are still “Parent Area Ahead” ads at the top. In Parent Mode there are even more ads. When you pay for an app you shouldn’t have to be bombarded with constant ads, let alone when your child is trying to play and there are places they cannot access. I feel this is an app more appropriate for 2-3 year olds. Now at age 5, my daughter is less interested in tracing letters and numbers just to collect fireflies. She did like the Alphabet area where you see the word and can click for animation. I thought the transition speed between letters was a bit slow. We like the rainbow colors. Theyre appealing to the eye. $9.99 is a bit expensive for the value. I could not imagine spending $20 on this app. However, $7.99 would be good. Like I said, great for 2-3 year olds, maybe even 4.

Great Pre-school app!

My son just turned 5 in Feb. He was very engaged with this app. The description on this app is very accurate. It is interactive worksheets. I homeschool and see this as a great school aide. It not only helps with writing readiness but the alphabet part helps build vocabulary as well! Another great thing is that it is so simple that he can do it 100% on his own. It also offers a lot of positive reinforcement. This app may seem a tad high but in reality its not. You are really getting several apps that are normally $1.99 and up each. That makes this one pretty cost effecient!

Semi engaging, might not hold the attention of finicky kids.

I liked how easy it is to trace. It has pretty accurate tracking and doesnt frustrate the kiddos. The voice interaction is friendly and fun, make it enjoyable to learn. The app itself is fun and intuitive. I think its best suited for preschoolers 3-5 since theres a lot of tracing with numbers and letters. Theres also an area in the app that has abcs matched with things that begin with the certain letter they are showing you. Your child clicks on the areas in that specific app game and it will tell you what the name of it is. Kind of interesting and fun, but it doesnt really hold the attention of my nieces too long. Theyre a little bit ADHD and prefer playing something along the lines of barbie dress up instead. Im not sure if I can justify paying $9.99 + tax on it because of this.

Children learn through kids academy

These days, children are now part of the statistics using different apps that are now available almost everywhere. Kids academy, however, is one app that you do not want your toddler to miss because it will help develop his/her basic learning. Your child can easily learn the alphabet, learn now to count and do simple math, and even learn to sing. The app makes it possible for the child to learn even when mommy or daddy are busy with something else because its so easy to navigate. It is a Montessori way of teaching, hence, relaxing. Most of all, it is not boring for most kids, so they will want to learn more.

Perfect Preschool Supplement & Educational Resource

Absolutely brilliantly done. Invaluable learning app for young children. As a mom of 4, this is one of my favorite apps to teach my kids with.

Great educational app!

My girls love this app! Theres so much to do, and I love that they are learning while having fun! We love collecting fireflies for a job well done! My youngest is learning her alphabet and numbers right now. She loves tracing the letters and numbers in the app! Lots to keep the kids engaged and perfect for continued summer learning!

Great Educational App

As a preschool teacher and mom of 4, I enjoy using educational apps with my students as well as with my own kids. This app offers a variety of learning experiences, engaging children, and addressing neccessary skills for preschool and kindergarten. I would have given a 5 star rating except I felt the price was a bit high compared to other educational apps.

Firefly Collectors

My kids loved collecting the fireflies. I made them their rewards for finishing the levels and they proudly held up their certificates. I loved that it was eay enough that my kids could learn on their own. It is an app they can use while I am doing dishes finisheing housework or just anytime. I hate the XBOX games they dont teach and I always feel guilty when my kids play those games. With Kids Acedemy I had to guilt at all I was just delighted to see my 4 and 5 year old getting along and learning together. They stayed engaged and picked up alot of great lessons!

Love it!

The app is very helpful for kids who are in preschool/pre-k. The format is fun and exiting but also teaches fundamental skills needed for school. The app features eight fun mini-games. These games include numbers(tracing and writing) and letters (tracing and writing). The tracing games are in an entertaining format, when you trace a line you collect "fireflies" when you mess up a kind female voice says "oops" and tells you to start over. These games encourage basic of letters numbers and even shapes!!! There is also an alphabet game that teaches every letter with a new animation and a spoken voice reciting the letter and object. Another cool feature off the app is the "robot" game. This is a game where you trace many different shapes inside the faces of an assortment of friendly robots. The back ground of most of the tracing games was blue a definite win for me.

Great app for 3 year old

My son has been enjoying this app for the past few days. He loves the variety of letter and number games. He enjoys tracing the numbers and letters and I love that the skill level of these games are perfect for his age. His favorite is the game where you click on a letter card and then touch diffent places in the picture to reveal other words that start with the same letter. He has repeatedly asked to play with this app and I like that it is easy for him to navigate. Its a great app for quiet time in the afternoon.

Great game!

This was a great game for my 5 year old. Weve been working on letters and numbers but its impossible to keep him still for long. This game not only got him to sit still but made him strive for excellence as he was so excited to get 3 stars!

Great help for tracing letters

I really like that this app has both the upper and lower case letters to teach the children. I also like that the app does not move on until the child traces the letter correctly.

Great for my Pre-K son!

This app has lots of great features for your children who are getting ready for kindergarten. First of all there are cute and colorful integrative videos for your child to learn the alphabet. The animated alphabet and pictures keep your child entertained while learning at the same time. One of the great features of this app is practice with handwriting. There are games for your child to practice tracing letters and numbers. When your child successfully completes some of the games they receive a medal or an award on the screen with a motivational message to keep on going! My son liked this a lot! When you using the games for practice writing the alphabet I would suggest your child use a stylus to mimic the use of a pen or pencil. Overall this is a great app to learn the basics for preparation for kindergarten!

Great for little kids

This app is made for toddlers to learn at their own pace and as such ,I would highly recommend it, especially if you have a child with special needs, because for them even the most basic functions are hard to master.

Very Educational for my 2 year old

I love this app it is definitely worth it my son is learning so much from this program and would love to have more apps like this for children his age. He is only 2 and knows more then what my daughter did at this age. It encourages fine motor skills by tracing and learning numbers and letters too.

Great app for preschool

I do not normally pay for apps but this one is worth it. My daughter has been begging to trace her letters and work on her letter sounds. There are many different skills to practice and it keeps her from getting board

Edu App With High Production Values

This app can easily hold a young child’s interest because the bright colors, non-annoying sounds and generally high production values. Plus they will learn letters and pre-reading skills while they play. Nice work from Kids Academy. Be aware though that even the paid version has adverts, so be careful allowing little ones to play on their own as they could easily accidentally tap an advert.
